We do it differently altogether. At iMPACT direct one can directly donate to successful projects of African nonprofits, who support people out of extreme poverty. Besides, we support these non-profits for three years to become the best impact-makers in their region

Local Expertise Matters
Locally-led non-profits and the people involved often have the best solutions at hand.
Direct donations to their projects means that people living in extreme poverty get help faster and cheaper. Why? Because today a lot of aid money isn’t going to the right place or to the right solutions, because:
- On average, 35% of the traditional aid budget is spent in northern countries.
- And on average 63% is spent on finding solutions far away from the local context.
- And locally-led NGOs only receive 2% of the global aid budget directly.
iMPACT direct’s unique approach
That should change! That is why we guarantee that:
- We support each partner-NGO to professionalise their organisation, so that they can keep on making an impact, even after our partnership ends.
- We transfer 95% of all project donations to the non-profits, and that locally-led NGOs decide how donations are spent.
- Credible locally-led NGOs at our website. In the countries we work, we find and carefully select NGOs, and by working closely together, we get to know each other really well.
This approach is unique in the Netherlands.
Paid consultancy and professional services
At iMPACT direct, we recognise that not every organisation can join us as a long-term partner due to criteria and capacity limits and have accepted the challenge from partners. To ensure we serve more actors working for change, we have developed a consultancy and professional services arm open to all African NGOs, donor organisations, and diaspora groups.
Through this platform, we provide tailored, practical support designed to strengthen organisational capacity, improve programme delivery, and enhance sustainability. This approach allows us to reach beyond our core partnerships, offering expertise that connects donors, local organisations, and the diaspora in building stronger, more impactful collaborations across Africa.
